August 24th I met up with Tony Birch at the Melbourne Writers Festival. Tony Birch’s major publications include the novel ‘Blood’ (2011 – shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award 2012), and short stories ‘Father’s Day’ (2009) and ‘Shadowboxing’ (2006). I spoke to him particularly about his short stories just before he went into a session discussing micro fiction.
