Jack Ferryman – reluctant Private Investigator is the sequel to John Bartlett’s 2005 semi-autobiographical Towards a Distant Sea.
Paul (‘Jack’) Ferryman has left the priesthood, the church and the Philippines behind him and now lives in Venice Beach, near Los Angeles and works part-time as an investigative journalist. The murder of Jack’s friend Eugenio in the Philippines, thirty years earlier, drives Jack on the path to seek justice or is it just plain revenge?
Along with his niece, Percy, Jason, a homeless Iraqi Vet and Skye, a Private Investigator, Jack is gradually drawn into the world of corrupt police and politicians.
His compulsion to seek justice takes him into the dark back streets of Venice Beach and into the dark and disturbed minds of those who would do him harm.
The TV mini-series companion, Beyond a Distant Sea, a one-hour procedural crime drama television series, is currently also under consideration.
John, a great read, enjoyed the plot and characters, like the way you bought in your past life experiences and comments on the current topics still confronting every day life, always one for the underdog and how they are treated unfairly by society, I hope we hear more about “Jack Ferryman” in the future.
