Abdi Aden  is a Somali refugee whose recent book ‘Shining: the story of a lucky man’ tells of his harrowing journey from civil war in Somalia to life in Melbourne.

Dr Nasya Bahfen  is a senior lecturer in the School of Media Film and Journalism at Monash University and an AFL multicultural community ambassador.

Lucy Treloar is the author of the recently published ‘Salt Creek’ shortlisted for the 2016 Miles Franklin.
